Foundations, footings, slabs and flatwork — the solid base every project depends on, poured and finished right.
What we take on
- Foundations & footings — for new builds, additions and garages, set out from the drawings and inspected before the pour.
- Slabs & driveways — garage slabs, patios, walkways and driveways, with the base prepared properly underneath rather than the concrete asked to make up for it.
- Forming & finishing — the forms that shape it and the finish that gets walked on, both done in-house.
Concrete is unforgiving, so the preparation matters
Almost everything that goes wrong with a slab was decided before the truck arrived: the base, the drainage, the reinforcement, the weather. Once it is poured, a mistake is a demolition job rather than a repair, which is why we spend the time on setting out and on the ground underneath.
Rain is a scheduling problem, not a surprise
This is Metro Vancouver. Pours get planned around the forecast, with cover and curing arranged in advance, and we would rather move a pour by a day than place concrete into conditions that will compromise it.
The same crew frames on top of it
When the people pouring the foundation are the ones who will frame on it, the anchor bolts land where the framing needs them and nobody spends a morning arguing about whose tolerance was wrong.
Tell us about the project. Email info@gdlcontracting.ca with what you are building, roughly where in Metro Vancouver, and when you would like to start — we will come back with what it involves and what to expect.
